RACE OF NOTICE
INVITATION: Every Friday night, from June 8 thru August 24, OCSA yacht clubs are pleased to extend an opportunity for all skippers to compete in these not-so-serious, somewhat whimsical, and just-for-fun, beer can races. Skippers new to racing are especially encouraged to participate.
DESCRIPTION: These races are intended to provide a casual platform for acquiring or polishing skills without the intensity of a serious regatta. Each race will be conducted separately by a sponsoring yacht club.
ELIGIBILITY AND INSTRUCTIONS: Entrants must comply with the insurance provisions of the OCSA Race Entry Form. PHRF ratings are not required. Level or one design class competition is encouraged. The OCSA Sailing Instructions will govern races. All boats must register with the committee by giving the Committee Boat a signed OCSA Race Entry Form. This is for insurance reasons. Any unregistered boat is ineligible to race.
DATE AND TIME:
The first warning signal is at 1830 hours (6:30 pm).

SUPPLEMENTAL SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
CLASS DIVISIONS: The Race Committee may or may not post class division depending on bribes.
COURSES: Courses set by the Race Committee will be posted on the Committee Boat.
SCORING: Skippers are expected to note their finish position relative to others and report such information to anyone willing to attach significance to its importance.
PROTESTS: Protests are emphatically discouraged. Skippers are encouraged to settle alleged infringements of the racing rules in a private, Corinthian spirit.
COMMUNICATIONS: In case of a "Come Within Hail" (Code "L") signal display, pass by the Committee Boat for additional instruction. Extortion on the part of the Race Committee shall not be prohibited. Indeed, it may be expected.
END OF SUPPLEMENTAL SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
SOCIAL: Participation stickers (supplied by Schooner Creek) may be picked up at the committee boat upon finishing the race. A post race social may be announced.
